My Classes

I now teach two different courses in two different cities!

Victoria
In Victoria I am teaching a course in Food Culture, which introduces the concepts of Food Culture, Slow Food, and Food Security, along with multimedia presentations on my favourite foods such as olive oil, cheese and cured meats. Those lessons involve tastings as well. For more information, click here.

Vancouver
So many people tell me they would love to have my job. In Vancouver I teach courses on Food and Travel Writing through the UBC Writing Centre. Talk about an offer that can be both profitable and delicious! I'll show you how to craft and sell stories about your culinary and travel experiences. Guest speakers will include published food writers, restaurant reviewers, food stylists and chefs. The course also includes a field trip to a local restaurant where you can practice writing your own restaurant review.

I am also available to do cooking demonstrations and lessons for private or public functions. I also speak at or emcee public functions and am available for specialized media coaching for professionals in the food industry.
